Miracle

Ruby is doing great. We left the hospital about 11am and she was still waking up from the anesthesia. Her face was puffy and her little lips were big. Hard to see her on a ventilator and all limp.

They took a piece out of the mass, about half the size of a thumb. She lost about 10tsp of blood just from that so they didn't take any more.  When Dr.Grimmer (the ENT) came to talk to us, he showed us images from the CT scan.  Mark and I were shocked.
I feel like Ruby is a real. live. miracle.
We've heard over and over how vascular it is, but the images blew us away and how chocked full of vessels and arteries it is.
Thank you for your prayers and fasting. I am amazed that her heart is handling what it is.

Dr Grimmer meets with a team (including bro in law Dave) every Wednesday, so there is a good chance we won't know a full report until next week.  The mass has deformed part of her skull, so if/when surgery is possible there will be a neurosurgeon or plastic surgeon involved also. It will probably take multiple surgeries.

Once again, thank you for your support and love. It's so nice to know prayers are being said for Ruby, and that we have wonderful people to play with and take care of Siri and Jane.

Dr. Grimmer is our ENT as well. Russell goes in for a larygoscopy (sp?) on the 18th. Perhaps you'll still be there and I'll visit during the surgery.
