Things we love

smiles and silly faces from sister

eating spaghetti

jumping on the trampoline, every day

going to Ikea

singing 'Frosty the Snowman' while building one

making forts and watching a movie for daddy-daughter date night

pigtails and caramel popcorn

switching out newborn clothes for 3 month ones since she's growing so fast

going to Grandma's!

***things we love, but not as much: the sound of Jane spitting up and/or blowing out, major tantrum-crazy-meltdown from Siri yesterday, taking the garbage out down the muddy pot hole lane, having to find new tenants for our townhome-again.

the worst best night

Last night was the best night yet for Jane. 9:30pm-6am. Unfortunately for me I woke up about 3:30am and never went back to sleep...thus it was the worst best night. I switched out most of her newborn clothes for 3m clothes. They're a little big, but rather too big than try to squish her into newborn stuff that is too short.

I went for a run this morning and could have worn shorts. Oh how nice that sun felt!

Mark has to go out of town for work for the next five days so I'll be going at the two-kid thing alone for the first time. I easily admit that I'm nervous. Mostly nervous that I'll turn into a crazy mean mom. I hate it when I do that. So, I'll try to enjoy the whining, poopy diapers, trying to appease 2 girls at once, and staying home more than usual as best I can.

And, is Cheesecake Factory really that good? Yes, yes it is.

3 months left...

Three months from today I will (hopefully) have finished the Ironman in St. George and will be wolfing down pizza + bacon cheeseburger while receiving a 4-hour massage. That sounds about right, doesn't it?

Am I ready? No.

I have been training consistently and finish my workouts well but it's hard for me to truly fathom doing the entire Ironman distance in one fell swoop. There are times when I wish the race was tomorrow so I could simply gut it out and get it done. Then reason kicks in (I know - this is a rare occasion) and I am suddenly grateful for a few extra months of preparation and
training.

This is me after 6 months of training. Ali told me that it's not a terrible sight if you can get past the screamin' UV rays from my pastiness. I certainly feel like I am in better overall shape (I better be after 6 months!) but I can't tell you how much I would just like to get skate instead of bike indoors on my trainer.

Nonetheless, I am still pretty stoked to be a part of this event. I am super glad to have friends suffering right there beside me (or a few miles in front me i am sure). It's going to be amazing and definitely don't regret signing up.
