gettin' learned

The last little while Mark and I have spent a little quality time outdoors, learning. We learned:
How to use a till
How to till the garden
Why turkey manure is so awesome
How to prune grape vines
How to prune fruit trees
That you can never have too many garden/yard tools

Yesterday Siri and I took an adventure outside in the blowing windy wind! After taking a few steps she got blown over but quickly got used to staying on her feet through the gusts. She was excited to wave hi to the horses and pet them. She held her first potato bug and worm, it was great. I'll have to teach here more about the tater bugs later so she won't be nervous to hold them. She kept trying to pokie it off my hand with the stick she was holding.

We are crazy busy with lots of work for each of us and playing with Siri. It will be a big job taking care of everything, but we're excited to learn and hopefully enjoy, literally, the fruits of our labors!

More March Madness

Since I'm too lazy to put the pics in the right order...this is what we have been doing in reverse order...

Yesterday I took Siri to the Dr for her 18mo appt. She's awesome! 36% for weight, 65% for height.

I took Siri to work with me, she whistled (or tried to sing) while I worked

We moved! We'll be at my Aunt and Uncle's while they are on a mission. The view from our door yesterday. Siri says 'nay!' every morning when she looks out the window.

My stepdad, John, is taking care of my Aunt's horses while she's gone...Siri helped drive the truck full of hay.

visiting with cousins

I had a birthday! I went skiing with my friend Em and had dinner with all my family. Mark wrote me the sweetest poem/card, it made me cry!

Siri and I went to a rockin' St.Pattys party. She was the cutest leprechaun there!

New Fav

I get the magazine Cooking Light. I tore out this recipe because it looked easy and was healthy...although I wasn't sure if it would taste awesome. Turns out it was REALLY good. It makes 4 servings and Mark and I downed it all. And, you can make it all in one pan (or two if you use one pan to steam the broccoli).
Chickpeas with Broccoli and Bacon

You should try it. And if you have a fav recipe I can make, please leave a comment or link to it!

Delicious vitamin D

Mark and I went on a trip. We went to Florida. (Siri stayed home to be spoiled by her Grandmas).
We...
went to the Orlando Temple
swam in a warm pool
hot tubbed
watched tv
ate lots of ice cream
took naps!
went to Island of Adventure
drove a sweet white Ford Mustang
ran on the beach
went surfing
got sunburned
ate lots of good food
realized I really do not like shrimp
went to 2 movies
remember how in love we are, really, as cheesy as that sounds.

We nearly missed our flight home, but luckily my emotions took over (being frustrated and being determined to get to Siri) and a security guy let us in the family/handicapped line so we could make our flight.

This trip was so good for Mark and I, and also for Siri-we missed her dearly.
