Sam's little sister

"Sam has a little sister?" Ruby asked as we looked through pictures from 5 years ago.  "Yeah, Liz and Dan have a baby girl, that's Naomi". Ruby was born 9 months after Naomi passed away. I feel fairly certain they'd be BFFs and hopefully will be one day.

Today I looked through some pictures Mark took of the graveside service for her. Its good to remember and feel, even if its sad.

time is short

This baby. She cries at 90% of people...strangers, grandma, the neighbor. I was sad about it at first, I feel bad that her grandmas can't hold her without her screaming. But I'm ok with her being comfy with me, Mark, sisters and whomever you select few others are :)

immunotherapy day

My friend Alexis came to visit, which made my day. Time goes by so much faster with a visit from a friend.  Especially when that friend has been given a timeline by doctors of how long they expect her to live. It was heavy news when she called me. Its also changed my life for the better and helps me appreciate, care, and love more. She has melanoma, and even though Ruby does too, she's doing so well I sometimes forget how quickly that can change. You can read about Alexis' latest updates here on her blog. My dad has had addiction issues most of his life and have been worse the last few years. I've been reminded of that as he is having some health issues recently. Another chance to stop and think about the relationships and actions I take in my life. We also found out our neighbor has a very aggressive brain tumor. It has affected her vision, speech, movement, and more. Not sure she'll ever be the same. I often hesitate to take that trip, do that thing that takes more effort/money/time than usual. I don't want to hesitate.

Today at church a couple in our ward gave inspiring talks on this great country we live in and those that serve in the military.

tired

If I took a guess, I think the word "tired" would be the one I have written most in my journal lately. I thought it was temporary, but I'm pretty sure its been since Annie was born.  For you parents of lots of young kids...is this permanent or am I going to ever not feel tired/lethargic?! Really. 

I did get sick last week...thought it was food poisoning but maybe it has been a virus because I still feel so tired. Not so easy to call in sick as a parent!  

Its been like Christmas this past week. I had a seize the day plan come through and we got some new play stuff for the back yard for the girls to enjoy :)  My sis and her kids are in town from California. We got to stay over a night at the cabin and tomorrow is the 4th. We are blessed!

I forgot Ruby's jammies...she had worn a comfy dress and doubled it as a night gown. When she got chilly she wore a long sleeve of Jane's. Who needs jammies?
