Today

I want to remember today.

Mark and I woke up about 6:45, laid in bed until we heard the girls wake up. Siri came in bed and snuggled with me. Jane soon noticed she was alone and wanted in on the fun. Mark got her out of her crib and put her in bed with me too. He got them some warm milk and we all just snuggled for a while.

I threw in some laundry, made smoothies. We dropped the girls off at Grandma Sandy's while we went to the U to meet with doctors. 3 hours later, we understand the seriousness of the situation, but drive home happy and talking about our blessings.

Siri went to a friends house while Jane napped. I was on the computer most the time paying bills and coordinating life for the next week. Sister Liz and neighborhood friend Meagan are life savers. They've taken over helping with childcare and dinners.  The doctors say baby could be in the hospital weeks or "at least a month". Mark was outside pruning one of our trees with my uncle (really my mom's cousin) Robert who is the king of all things fruit tree related. Sounds weird, but on my list of things to do was prune our apple tree. Its the one fruit tree in our yard and I want to save it. When we moved here it was so snaggly, but now there is hope it can be good again. I also wanted to plant peas, but that will have to wait.

I got Jane up and I held her for a while. Put on her helmet, jacket, gloves, boots. Mark got on a beanie and grabbed his skateboard. I got the stroller and put Siri's bike/helmet/gloves in it and we walked down to pick her up from her friend's.  We walked around the neighborhood, seeing the usual 2 houses that have horses. Siri pet the horse she has named "Marley" and we headed home. I loved being behind my family watching them roll down the street. Mark doing kickflips and the girls sticking their legs out to the sides as they ride their bikes. We went to dinner at the Black Bear Diner. I wanted steak, so I had steak :)

Mark gave the girls a bath as I changed their sheets and packed a bag for them to go to Grandma Carol's for the weekend. Grandma stopped by to say hi, and give us some yummy bread. Jane running naked up and down the hallway being silly. We let them stay up a little longer, and I gave them extra kisses before bed.

Things can't stay the same forever, but I always want to remember how today was.

Its almost 10pm but I may go on an ice cream run since I have to fast tomorrow before surgery :)
