Especially when Ruby has thrown up in the wee hours of the morning. Luckily she made most of it to the sink. But the sink was clogged. And the washing machine is broken.
We cleaned it all up, side by side.
Were awake off and on all night, side by side.
Woke up tired, side by side.
Ruby seems to be feeling better, but still says once in a while her tummy hurts and she can come lay by me in my bed tonight. I'm also suspicious she's milking this whole sickness thing :)
Just traded Mark shifts on baby duty. This is her fussy time and it takes switching off to make it through.
Took wash to Liz's. Thankful for her and others in my ward who offered to do gross laundry. Tag teamed going to church/staying home with Ruby and Annie. Then I took the girls up the canyon to get out of the nasty and breathe some fresh air while Mark stayed home with that baby and made delicious tacos for us. As we drove up the canyon we talked about where we would move to be in better air. Jane said Hawaii, Ruby said Heaven. As Ruby and I waited in the car for Siri and Jane to play in the snow a few more minutes before we went home I asked her "What do you think will happen with the cancer in your lungs when we go get pictures in the pirate ship this week?" (the CT scanner is painted like a pirate ship) She paused. "I don't know. Die?" How do I feel about a reply like that...sad, surprised, scared and hoping that she's wrong but knowing its possible. She also asks me every day how many more days until her birthday. 60. And I will be so thankful for her 4th birthday. It was March of last year when we started this whole cancer crap business and I was very unsure what her health would be like right now. I'm very thankful she is still a happy messy haired 3 year old that I can gaze at and hold. I want to always remember looking in her eyes while we were out there in the snow. Her big red jacket, hello kitty hat, perfect skin, rosy nose and beautiful clear eyes.
growing up I remember New Years Eve my mom would always make a pretty veggie/cracker tray with her dill dip! I made a less fancy version of it for today.
sparkler in the middle of her candles on her giant cupcake
Happy New Years Eve sparklers before being in bed by 8:30 :)
